英语教研组活动报导五

20221124日,我校英语组开展了本学期第次教研组活动。本次教研活动主要是新入职教师的课堂展示,本次活动由张修苗老师执教Unit 8 Happy New Year(story time),英语教研组教师全员参与,并在课后进行探讨。

课堂伊始,张老师用一首与课题相关的歌曲活跃了课堂气氛,接着与同学们谈论元旦时大家会说的祝福语与庆祝活动。紧接着,通过小游戏激发学生的兴趣,充分提高学生积极性,并通过游戏学习本课重点句型Whats this/that? 新词balldollrobot然后,通过一个个任务引领学生学习课文内容,学生们发言积极,踊跃参与。整节课中,张老师在复习学生已有知识的基础上,积极引导学生联系生活实际,谈论本课话题,让学生在积极的表达中自然而然地操练新的句型和单词。整节课各环节衔接流畅自然,张老师在授课过程中不但关注学生的表达,还关注学生的阅读策略指导,尤其注重引导学生观察课文图片,从图片细节中获取文本相关信息。

课后,本组教师针对本节课进行教学研讨并提出建议,互相交流学习。

Teaching procedures

I. Lead in

1. Enjoy a song: Happy New Year.

2. What’s the song about?--New year.

3. Teacher shows the calendar, and explains the New Year’s Day, so as to lead in to the topic---Happy New Year.

4. Let’s talk: Teacher shows the differences between the New year’s Day and the Chinese New Year, so as to introduce the topic --- getting presents on New Year’s Day.

5. Teacher has prepared some presents, and then shows a sweet:

1) T: It’s a ....   S1: It’s a sweet.

2) T: What’s this?(shows an orange) S: It’s an orange.

3) Teacher shows a ball hidden under the box, and ask Ss to ask the question: What’s this? and then use the same way to teach the new word: the doll

4) Teacher shows a robot behind the box, which is located on the top of the screen(Far), and let Ss to ask the question:What’s that?

5) Let’s chant: three rhymes like“This, this. What’s this? Ball, ball. It’s a ball.”etc.

 

II. Presentation

1. Look and guess: teacher shows a picture of Mike’s home, and create a situation that someone visits Mike’s home on New year’s day with some presents. Who is he?

2. Listen and say: Listen to what Mike and Helen say in the tape---Happy New YEAR, Uncle John, so as to introduce the new character: Uncle John.

3. Can you say hello to Uncle John?

4. Watch and answer: What presents does Uncle John take?

5. Read and match: Whom are these presents for? While matching, try to use the sentences to talk with partners: It’s a.... It’s for....

6. Read and say: What does Uncle John say when giving presents?

Teacher ask one students to put the characters stickers onto the blackboard, and say “This is for you, Helen/Mike”. and “It’s for Tim.”

7. Teacher shows the culture tips: In westerns countries, people often unpack the box immediately, and give their appreciation.

8. After receiving the presents, what do they say to Uncle John?--Thank you, Uncle John.(Reading guidance: imitate the pronunciation and intonation.)

9. Look and say: illustrate the reason why does Helen ask “What’s that? ”while Mike asks “What’s this?”

1. Read in groups

3. Let’s imagine: Tim comes back, what will they talk?

4. Group work: First, try to talk about what do they say? , and  make a new dialogue. Then, teacher invites three students to illustrate the new dialogue.

5. Invites two groups to make a new dialogue.

6. Culture time: show some pictures about what people do in other countries on New Year’s Day.

IV. Homework

Prepare some presents, and give them to your families and friends using the sentences we learned today.
